What we do is possible because of the strength and hope of the people we support. Our flagship program was designed for wheelchair bound youngsters from the ages of 7-17. These are the years where we have the biggest chance to break down the mental barriers of what they can and cannot do, leaving a lasting value in knowing the only true disability is in the mind and that they can accomplish many things they did not think were possible. This renewed confidence carries forward throughout their lives, creating purpose and joy. Thank you so much for considering a donation to the Ocean Healing Group! OHG helps kids in wheelchairs learn to surf, ride quads, zip line and snorkel in beautiful Santa Teresa, Costa Rica. Shaka Beach Retreat donates the property and staff to OHG for these adaptive retreats and your donation helps purchase their flights and transfer costs once in the country. 100% of your donation goes directly to travel costs for these families. All board members, team leaders and volunteers pay their own way and give of their time for free.
In the last 12 years, we have hosted 30 week long adaptive retreats at Shaka and helped over 100 kids feel the amazing experience of riding a wave. Thank you so much for supporting our passion of making the waves available for everyone.
Your donation provides travel expenses, lodging & food but so much more than that, they provide rehabilitation of the soul, the knowledge that when they drive themselves to achieve, anything is possible. It is this mindset that is the core philosophy of Ocean Healing Group.
